Bahama Woodstar (Eleuthera, Bahamas)

The Bahama Woodstar hummingbird, an endemic to the Bahamas, resembles the Ruby-throated hummingbird often seen in Ohio. But the gorget – that flashes irridescent purple when the light impinges on it at the correct angle – is wider than the ruby red gorget of the Ruby-throated hummingbird.
